Conflict in Angola 1995
Angola, a Portuguese colony in Southern Africa until 1975,
was torn apart for decades by a Civil War involving rival factions. During the Cold War different factions were armed and supported
by the United States on one side and the Soviet Union on the other.

In 1995, the United Nations sent in a peace-keeping force in which British troops served. However the intervention did not prevent
further violence.
